Preferred soil conditions:

Moist, well drained organic soil types. Small amount of sandy or clay soil acceptable.

Although most do well in wet areas, no standing water should remain for lengths of time. 

Mulch after planting and water as necessary for the first year and periods of drought thereafter.

Canada Red Chokecherry

European Beech  
(Fagus sylvatica)

European Beech is native to central and southern Europe. Known for its large size, smooth gray bark and branches

that often sweep the ground. The leaves have smooth edges compared to our American Beech (Fagus grandifolia), adapts to a larger range of soil types and produces many different colored cultivars. The standard tree can grow to 60 feet high by 45 feet wide.

European Beech 'Riversii'

Honeylocust  
(Gleditsia triacanthos)

The Honeylocust tree is a fast-growing shade tree native to North America. Although it's known for its thorns, most cultivars are of the thornless variety. It has long, flattened seed pods that contain sweet honey-like pulp that is edible.

Sunburst ® Honeylocust   

(Gleditsia triacanthos var. inermis 'Skycole')

Sunburst ® is a beautifully distinctive tree with bright yellow new growth all season! The new growth hardens off to a lime green but the tree continuously adds more growth throughout the growing season, creating bursts of yellow tips! It makes a wonderful shade tree plus it's thornless AND seedless.
