
Willows, also called sallows and osiers, are comprised of around 350 different species of trees and shrubs in the genus Salix. Mainly found in moist soils they are also very adaptable to many soil types.
Preferred soil conditions:
Moist, well drained organic soil types. Small amount of clay and sand acceptable. Although they are found near water and wetter locations, Willows will do their best with no standing water for lengths of time.
Mulch after planting and water as necessary for the first year and periods of drought thereafter.

It is a deciduous shrub that rarely gets taller than 12 feet.

The Dwarf Arctic Blue Willow has small, silvery green leaves. Very adaptable even in wet areas. For best viewing this shrub like to be pruned in late spring and again in early fall.
